The ReCollective Repurposes Paper Bags
Do you have a stack of paper bags taking up space at home? ReCo can help! We partner with local retailers and community organizations to give these bags a second life where they’re needed most. Paper bags in good condition can be repurposed for shopping or packaging, reducing waste and supporting local businesses. By donating your paper bags, you’re not only clearing clutter but also helping to extend the life of these bags in our community.
During designated collection months, paper bags can be stacked and placed in your black waterproof bag.
Accepted Materials
Repurposing used paper bags, including:
- Grocery store paper bags
- Retail store paper bags
- Paper gift bags
- Clean paper takeout bags
All paper bags should be intact, clean, and in good condition to ensure they can be effectively repurposed.
We can accept a stack of paper bags up to 8 inches tall. Please place the bags inside your waterproof black bag for collection.
How does The ReCollective repurpose paper bags?
Your used paper bags are transported to our Durham, NC warehouse, where they are sorted and distributed to local businesses to be repurposed for their customers.
At The ReCollective, we recycle paper bags across the Triangle, NC, including Durham, Raleigh, Cary, and Chapel Hill, as well as through our Almost Anything Bag Mailback program. We’re dedicated to giving your paper bags a second life.
Paper bags are collected through the ReCo Pick in addition to our other core hard-to-recycle materials that are collected each pickup.
