Plastic Mesh Produce Bags
ReCollecting Plastic Mesh Produce Bags
Recycling plastic mesh produce bags helps reduce the risk of this material ending up in oceans, where it can harm marine life and contribute to plastic pollution. These bags, often entangling wildlife, can be repurposed when properly collected.
During designated collection months, plastic mesh produce bags should be placed in your own bag, not the ReCo Pick bag!
Accepted Materials
Included: Plastic mesh produce bags includes the mesh bags used for items like oranges, onions, and garlic. These lightweight, flexible nets are usually red, yellow, or green and should be free of food residue before recycling.
Do not include bags with food residue, non-mesh plastic packaging, or mesh bags made from materials other than plastic.
Please place the mesh bags in a bag of your own, no larger than grocery size, and set it inside your waterproof black bag. Do not put the nets in your ReCo Pick bag.
