Reco PickE-Waste

Triangle Ecycling’s mission is to serve the community and environment by collecting e-waste and ensuring that 100% of it is refurbished and reused or ethically recycled. Triangle Ecycling adheres to a 0% landfill policy.

Additionally, you support Durham Public School education when you recycle your computers with Triangle Ecycling. Computers are used for a sustainable computer tech education lab. With the assistance of Durham and Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School administrators and teachers, Triangle Ecycling has trained over 140 high school students in their shop. Refurbished computers are then donated to local nonprofits that support education.

The ReCollective partners with Triangle Ecycling to repurpose and recycle e-waste. Follow the below guide as to what is included in the September ReCo pick, and please only put in items that fit within the ReCo pick canvas bag.

Why Repurpose and Recycle Small Electronics (E-Waste)

Many old electronic devices contain heavy metals, mercury, and other harmful chemicals that can pollute soil and groundwater. Electronics also have valuable materials like copper, silver, aluminum, plastic, and glass that can be reclaimed instead of mining new resources from the earth.
