ReCo recycles and finds community reuse for what your curbside recycling can’t take. ReCo Picks are collected in addition to all the other materials we regularly accept.
The ReCollective partners with Mutual Aid Groups as well as the Durham Tool Library. For May pickups, please put Household Tools in your ReCo Pick Bag.
What is included? All standard household tools like hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, tape measures, levels, allen wrench sets, rules/square, socket sets, stud finders, flashlights, drills/bits, and safety glasses.
What is NOT included? Broken tools, anything sharp, or anything that doesn’t fit in the ReCo bag.
The ReCollective is taking Plant Pots as a BONUS pick in May. Please stack your plant pots and set them beside your waterproof bag. Do not put the Plant Pots in your ReCo Pick bag.
What is included? What is included? All kinds of pots for plants, including plastic, ceramic, woven, wood, or metal. We will even take those cheap plastic ones you get from the garden center.
What is NOT included? Seed starter trays or cells. Anything that is not a single pot, such as a 4 or 6-pack of seed starter cells or plants.
Where is it going? We partner with local garden centers to help new plants GROW!
To ensure we have enough space in the van and that our partners can handle the volume of pots, please keep the total to, at most, two stacks that are two feet high.
Last but not least, Eclipse Glasses! Don’t trash your eclipse glasses! Recirculate them with the ReCollective!
💫 What: Safe, undamaged, certified eclipse glasses with an ISO label.
💫 How: Members can place their glasses in the black ReCo bag for pickup in April or May.
💫 The ReCollective: We work with organizations to reuse your eclipse glasses!
REMINDER: YES, you may Share your bag capacity — Your friends, family, and neighbors can put materials in your ReCo bags. The one exception we do ask of this is Batteries / Lightbulbs since these are the most complex items for our team to manage. Feel free to Share your bag capacity for Plastic Film, Textiles, Styrofoam, ReCo Picks, and more! So, help your friends ReCollect Household Tools, Plant Pots, and Eclipse Glasses too!
