Do you love spending Saturday mornings at the Durham Farmers’ Market? Care about composting and keeping hard-to-recycle materials out of the landfill? Enjoy connecting with neighbors who care about the same things?
The ReCollective is looking for a friendly, reliable community ambassador to represent our service at the Durham Farmers’ Market most Saturdays from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with occasional opportunities to support other local events.
This is more than staffing a table. You would be the welcoming face of a small, local service that diverts thousands of pounds of material from landfill each month across the Triangle. You would help members compost, recycle more, and feel confident about where their materials go.
What You Would Do
-
Set up and break down our market stand
-
Collect ReCo Purple Bins from members
-
Talk with visitors about composting and hard-to-recycle materials
-
Help new members get signed up and answer questions
You do not need to be an expert. We will make sure you understand our services and feel confident explaining them. You should be comfortable lifting and moving compost bins using a cart. The rest is about being dependable, approachable, and genuinely interested in community waste reduction.
What You Receive
-
Paid Saturday market hours
-
Free composting service
-
A visible, meaningful role in growing waste diversion in our community
