Recycle Unopened Hygiene Products
The ReCollective Collects Unopened Hygiene Products
Unopened hygiene products are frequently left unused due to travel, brand changes, or household cleanouts. While these items are still perfectly usable, they often end up discarded because there is no easy reuse pathway.
The ReCollective is collecting unopened hygiene products as a Bonus ReCo Pick, helping redirect these essentials to community use instead of the landfill.
Hygiene products should be placed in your own bag and put inside your black waterproof bag.
Accepted Materials
Unopened regular and travel-size hygiene products, including:
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Disposable razors
- Shaving cream
- Antiperspirant
Please place items in a separate bag similar to or smaller than a standard grocery-size bag, then put that bag inside your black waterproof bag on pickup day.
What is NOT included? Opened or partially used products
How does The ReCollective handle hygiene products?
Collected hygiene products are transported to our Durham, NC warehouse, where they are checked and sorted. Approved items are distributed to local community organizations and partners that support individuals and families in need.
At The ReCollective, we recycle hygiene products across the Triangle, NC, including Durham, Raleigh, Cary, and Chapel Hill, as well as through our Almost Anything Bag Mailback program. We’re dedicated to giving your hygiene products a second life, whether through reuse or recycling.
Hygiene products are collected through the ReCo Pick in addition to our other core hard-to-recycle materials that are collected each pickup.
