Launching in Charlotte, Greensboro, Burlington, and Mebane by Spring 2026
Durham, NC – November 14, 2025 The ReCollective, North Carolina’s first doorstep hard-to-recycle service, is expanding across Central and Western North Carolina, bringing new routes to Charlotte, Greensboro, Burlington, and Mebane by Spring 2026.
Founded in September 2022 with just 40 members, The ReCollective has grown to serve one thousand households in the Triangle, NC, each helping transform how communities recycle and compost.
The ReCollective offers monthly doorstep pickup of items not accepted in curbside recycling programs, including plastic film, styrofoam, textiles, batteries, and small electronics. Together, these programs divert about 10,000 pounds of hard-to-recycle materials and organics each month from local landfills, covering 30 unique materials in all.
With pre-signups already open, the expansion will mark the initial phase of building long-term infrastructure across broader North Carolina.
Residents in Greensboro, Burlington, and Mebane can pre-sign up at therecollective.co/greensboro-burlington-mebane-recycles/ and Charlotte-area residents can pre-sign up at therecollective.co/charlotte-recycles/
