Recycle Used Toys

Toy recycling at the ReCollective

The ReCollective Recycles Used Toys

Did you know that plastic toys account for 90 percent of new toys sold? Unfortunately, 80% of these toys end up in landfills, incinerators, or the ocean. The ReCollective is here to help by offering ways to recycle them!

Toys should be put in your own bag, Not the ReCo Pick bag!

Accepted Materials

Recycling used toys, including:

  • Building and Construction Toys
  • Dolls and Plush Toys
  • Educational and Learning Toys
  • Outdoor and Active Toys
  • Pretend Play and Role-Playing Toys
  • Puzzles and Games
  • Electronic and Tech Toys

Please place the toys in a separate bag (less than 30 gallons) and set it beside your waterproof bag. Do not put the toys in your ReCo Pick bag.

What is NOT included? Broken toys or toys with missing parts that render them non-functional.

At The ReCollective, we recycle toys across the Triangle, NC, including Durham, Raleigh, Cary, and Chapel Hill, as well as through our Almost Anything Bag Mailback program. We’re dedicated to giving your toys a second life, whether through reuse or recycling.

Toys are collected through the ReCo Pick in addition to our other core hard-to-recycle materials that are collected each pickup.
