The ReCollective Recycles Used Kitchenware
When it’s time to part with your old kitchen gear, don’t just toss it in the trash. Instead, consider repurposing or recycling these items in the community to reclaim valuable materials and give them a second life.
Kitchenware should be placed in the ReCo Pick Bag during designated months.
Accepted Materials
Including all types of kitchenware:
- Cookware – pots, pans, Dutch ovens.
- Cutlery – knives, peelers, shears.
- Utensils – spatulas, ladles, whisks.
- Storage Containers – jars, bins, food storage bags.
- Bakeware – cake pans, muffin tins, baking sheets.
- Measuring Tools – measuring cups, measuring spoons, kitchen scales.
- Silverware – forks, knives, spoons.
- Cups – mugs, drinking glasses.
- Plates – dinner plates, salad plates.
What is NOT included? Items that can easily break, such as thin glass, or those with exposed sharp edges should not be included.
How does The ReCollective recycle kitchenware?
Your used kitchenware is transported to our Durham, NC warehouse, where it is sorted and then distributed to local community organizations. We partner with various organizations to facilitate the reuse and recycling of kitchenware.

Kitchenware is collected through the ReCo Pick in addition to our other core hard-to-recycle materials that are collected each pickup.
