Where is it going? The ReCollective is partnering with Trosa.
Founded in 1994, TROSA is an innovative, multi-year residential program that empowers people with substance use disorders to be productive, recovering individuals by providing comprehensive treatment, experiential vocational training, education, and continuing care. TROSA serves a daily average of 400 individuals living and learning together in recovery. Individuals are not charged to participate in TROSA’s program and do not need insurance. TROSA’s award-winning, peer-driven, evidence-based treatment program provides free housing, meals, clothing, health services, life skills training, mentorship, counseling, and more. Through TROSA, individuals in recovery are given the time, space, and opportunities to rebuild their lives, reconnect with their families, and reclaim their futures.
You can learn more about TROSA by visiting www.trosainc.org or calling 919-419-1059.
The ReCollective is taking Eyeglasses as a BONUS pick in June. Please put your eyeglasses in your own bag and place it inside your larger black waterproof bag. Do not put the Eyeglasses in your ReCo Pick bag.
Where is it going? The ReCollective is partnering with the Durham Lions Club.
Refractive errors can be easily corrected with eyeglasses, yet millions living in low and middle-income countries lack access to essential eye care services. The Lions Club has recognized the urgent need for corrective lenses and collects usable glasses in their communities to support the Lions Recycle For Sight Program.
Last year the Durham Lions Club collected over 4000 pairs of eyeglasses! Eyeglasses can also be dropped off at the box in front of the Lions Scout Center at 1850 Hillandale Rd in Durham.
REMINDER: YES, you may Share your bag capacity — Your friends, family, and neighbors can put materials in your ReCo bags. The one exception we do ask of this is Batteries / Lightbulbs since these are the most complex items for our team to manage. Feel free to Share your bag capacity for Plastic Film, Textiles, Styrofoam, ReCo Picks, and more!
So, help your friends recycle those Takeout Utensils and Eyeglasses too!
We believe that Sharing is more equitable for small households and will allow us to recycle the most materials per pickup, which is better for the environment!
