The ReCollective Members Donate Non-Perishable Food 

Clean out your pantry for a good cause! By donating non-perishable food items, you’re not just clearing space, but also helping to feed those in need in our community. Your contributions can make a big difference, turning your pantry surplus into a source of support for families and individuals facing food insecurity.

Non-perishable food should be placed in the ReCo Pick Bag during designated months.

Accepted Materials

Non-perishable food donations through the ReCo Pick

Unopened non-perishable foods of all kinds: 

  • Canned Goods (e.g., beans, vegetables, tuna)
  • Grains (e.g., rice, pasta, oats)
  • Legumes (e.g., dried lentils, chickpeas)
  • Condiments and Sauces (e.g., peanut butter, ketchup)
  • Baking Ingredients (e.g., flour, sugar)
  • Cereals (e.g., breakfast cereals, granola)
  • Snacks (e.g., crackers, nuts)
  • Powdered Foods (e.g., powdered milk, instant coffee)

What is NOT included? Perishable food and/or anything that requires refrigeration. Expired food. Open food.

How does The ReCollective donate food? 

Your donations are brought back to our Durham, NC warehouse, where they are packaged and then delivered to local community organizations.

Food donation is collected through the ReCo Pick in addition to our other core hard-to-recycle materials that are collected each pickup.
